George King, Lead Pastor
George met Jesus in 7th grade. However, discipleship is hard to come by in an addicted family environment. Late in high school and into college, George was discipled by several men who loved Jesus. They taught him to read the Bible, to pray, and to share his faith. George reluctantly abandoned his pursuit of medical school and moved to Kentucky to study Bible and theology. He tries to live according to the story of Jesus and has been able to share His story in Kenya, Malawi, California, Tennessee, and now in Iowa.
George is the Lead Pastor at Pennsylvania Avenue Church. He oversees the teaching, equipping, missional, and small group life aspects of the church. He and his wife, Crystal, enjoy life with their six children and can often be found reading together, playing games, enjoying the outdoors, and doing jiu-jitsu.
